Event Details
What is the Philly Day of Agile?
As the Agile project management process sweeps across the software industry, businesses that fail to understand the details are being left behind. This 1st Philadelphia Day of Agile builds on the success of similar events over the past three years in Cincinnati, Ohio to present a 3 track conference to both introduce the elements of Agile Software Development to those new to Agile and encourage stimulating conversation for those more advanced in the subject.
At this one day event on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 you will have the opportunity to choose between 3 different tracks. The first is focused on those new to Agile, the second targets those with some agile experience and want to grow, and the third track is for experienced agilistas.
There is a strong possibility for a fourth track that will focus on "hands-on" workshops.
For more information, please the Philly Day of Agile website.
PDU's
The Philadelphia PMI Chapter has enabled you to claim up to 6 Class B PDUs. For information on how to claim please refer to these documents:
Registration
Registration will open on July 15th at 12:00 EST! All attendees registered before midnight, August 21 will only pay $50 and also receive a commemorative t-shirt. Registration will remain open until all tickets are sold.
Register before the August 21 deadline and be entered to win a Kindle in addition to a 5-User License for Telerik's TeamPulse!
Why the fee? Hosting an event costs money. The facility charges for food, beverages, audio visual rental, setup, and teardown. If we don't sell enough food, we also have to pay for the rooms that we will be using. The fee that we are charging is just a little over half of the total cost per person of the event. Our generous sponsors make up the rest. Our plans have always been and continue to breaking exactly even for the event.
Do the organizers or speakers get paid? Not one penny. As a matter of fact, they pay their own expenses to come speak for us, so it is really costing them money to come help organize or to speak. (Make sure you thank them for the event).
Schedule
This is the schedule for the event. There is a strong possiblity that there will be a fourth track for "hands-on" training, but that is still in negotiation with the hotel.
